1. FIBERGLASS
a. Because of their affordable material, you can get these filters for as low as $1 each.
b. Does not filter smaller particles like animal dander, smoke bacteria as effectively. MERV RATING: 2-3
c. Because of their small surface area. fiberglass filter needs to be replaced every month.
d. The material used to make fiberglass filters cannot be recycled and are not biodegradable.

2. PLEATED 
a. Initially, the price for pleated filters ranges from $5 – $20 each, but they last longer so they can be a greater value.
b. Better overall air quality. Their increased surface area picks up more debris, pollutants, and allergens. MERV RATING: 7-13
c. Pleated air filters typically last 90 days before needing to be replaced, meaning you are getting more value from what you spend.
d. Pleated air filters can be recycled upon their disposal, thereby making them more eco-friendly.
